ABOUT THIS BLOG: KASHIKOI

I am so happy to post this blog about the game that we often play after our main lesson. 📚 It has been derived from the popular TV segment "Pinoy Henyo" which is often played on the Filipino show, "Eat Bulaga!" Loosely translated, Pinoy Henyo means "The Filipino Genius". I believe that the game is entitled as so because the creator and participants are Filipinos or "mga Pinoy". 🇵🇭 I want to share this game to my students because I have experienced benefitting from this game as well. 🌸 With the short time that we have for playing this game, I have only explained that playing games like this will help activate certain or almost all parts of the brain that are responsible for language. These are Broca's area, Wernicke's area, angular gyrus, and insular cortex. 🤓🤓🤓 (Age of the geeks, baby!)🤓🤓🤓 However, what I was not able to share during our sessions was that I have been in an accident years back. 😱 I have, from time to

MY ENGLISH NOTES - ENTRY #00002 : WORD CLASSES

MY ENGLISH NOTES As a tutor, we should primarily be aware of our responsibilities to our students. Perhaps the most basic of all is to have prior knowledge about the subject which is being taught to them. Two of the most challenging are: #1 -- to be updated on the latest changes and keep our minds sharp about the next level specialization and #2 -- the method by which teachers pass on the knowledge to their students. In this blog, I want to focus on number 1, since #2 is constantly being done in my classes. Furthermore, as a psychology graduate, I have learned that empathy is very powerful in many ways. Aside from having the capability to understand others, you can also HELP them in the most appropriate and enjoyable way possible. I want to empathize with my students who actually start from scratch, those who have ample knowledge, and those who wish to become experts, themselves. How will I be able to do this? Put simply, I will study English grammar
