ABOUT THIS BLOG: KASHIKOI

I am so happy to post this blog about the game that we often play after our main lesson. 📚 It has been derived from the popular TV segment "Pinoy Henyo" which is often played on the Filipino show, "Eat Bulaga!" Loosely translated, Pinoy Henyo means "The Filipino Genius". I believe that the game is entitled as so because the creator and participants are Filipinos or "mga Pinoy". 🇵🇭

I want to share this game to my students because I have experienced benefitting from this game as well. 🌸

With the short time that we have for playing this game, I have only explained that playing games like this will help activate certain or almost all parts of the brain that are responsible for language. These are Broca's area, Wernicke's area, angular gyrus, and insular cortex. 🤓🤓🤓 (Age of the geeks, baby!)🤓🤓🤓

However, what I was not able to share during our sessions was that I have been in an accident years back. 😱 I have, from time to time forgotten about certain important things that people would believe I would never forget. Watching Pinoy Henyo and playing it as well made me more alert and even improved my memory. This is my personal experience, but I know that there are a lot of research that show how "brain" games can help us in one way or another. 🤓📑

Some of my students have asked to create a tally or scoring system, which I think is truly amazing! Arigatou gozaismasu, my students for that wonderful idea! 🎎 🤓🤔

After a few modifications about the gameplay, I have decided to call the game, The Japanese Genius! 🤓🇯🇵

We have in-game scoring (my students versus myself) and we have the leaderboard. This blog is dedicated for bringing updates to my students about the Top Ten people with the Highest Scores, Top Ten people with the most number of "Word Records" (being the fastest to guess a particular word) (coming soon⌛️) and even the Top Ten people who requested for a game session. 💝

Some of my students have told me about the translation of "Kashikoi", or a very smart and intelligent man. Thank you for your contributions to make this project a success! ✅👏

I would like to acknowledge all of my students who do their best to improve themselves. I believe that having a sense of achievement and accomplishment is one of the most important examples of intrinsic motivation--the most effective motivation to keep us going! I salute you all! 👏👏👏
